One of the topics I hear about most often from residents is communication. People want to know what's happening at the Township, why decisions are being made, and how those decisions affect their families, neighbourhoods, and businesses. I believe that's a reasonable expectation.
Good communication builds trust. It helps residents stay informed, encourages meaningful public participation, and creates confidence in the decisions being made on their behalf. It also helps prevent misinformation and ensures people have access to accurate information when it matters most.
As your Councillor, I have always believed that being available and accessible is part of the job. Whether it's responding to an email, returning a phone call, attending community events, or having a conversation at the local coffee shop, I value every opportunity to listen and learn from residents.
Moving forward, I want to see the Township continue improving how it shares information with our community. Council decisions, major projects, road construction, planning initiatives, and public consultations should be communicated in a timely, clear, and easy-to-understand way. Residents shouldn't have to search for information—they should be able to find it when they need it.
I also believe communication is a two-way conversation. Listening is just as important as sharing information. Some of the best ideas and solutions come from residents who care deeply about our community, and they deserve to know their voices are being heard.
My commitment is simple: I will continue to be accessible, responsive, and transparent. I'll keep listening, keep communicating, and keep working to ensure residents are informed and engaged as we continue building a stronger Uxbridge together.
